Turbo

Turbo problems can manifest themselves as oil leaks, unusual noises or loss of power. Turbo repairs can include replacement of seals, bearings, compressor wheel turbines or, depending on the cause of the problem, complete replacement.

Mechanical repair of the turbo may vary depending on the nature of the fault and the turbo model. The mechanic will carry out a series of tests to identify the source of the fault, such as checking oil levels, examining air hoses, turbine ducts, bearings and seals. Diagnostics may also involve the use of specialist diagnostic equipment to detect system fault codes.
Removing the turbo

The mechanic then removes the turbo from its location and disassembles it to gain access to the internal parts, which are inspected for signs of wear, corrosion or damage.
Replacing faulty parts

If any parts are damaged or worn, the mechanic can replace them with new or remanufactured parts. It is also possible to replace related parts, such as air ducts or exhaust manifolds, which may be linked to turbo failure.

The mechanic also cleans the parts to remove dirt, debris or rust, and balances them to ensure optimum performance.
Testing the turbo

After reassembly, we test the turbo to make sure it is working properly and shows no signs of malfunction.
